Through the use of reduced-thickness, recycled film from high-quality recycled material, the DEISS PREMIUM PLUS Garbage bags achieve an optimal ecological balance: They require less raw materials while also being even more tear-resistant and durable than comparable products.

The high-performance polymers they contain create the foundation for reduced-thickness Garbage bags with the same performance. This saves on material, which also has a positive impact on production, storage and logistics costs. Since this still does not guarantee a 100 percent climate-neutral product, however, DEISS goes one step further to offer customers the most sustainable disposal solutions.

Climate Extender specializes in helping companies and organizations to become completely climate neutralized. With the help of Climate Extender, we are able to offset the remaining CO2 emissions from DEISS’s climate heroes. This reduces the environmental footprint to a minimum.

Thanks to this collaboration, the PREMIUM PLUS brand Garbage bags are 100 percent climate neutralized. The innovative high-performance films offer the same performance, even with less material and energy use and reduced transport volume. And we are constantly looking into ways to improve the product. We take the CO2 balance of the new products’ entire life cycle into consideration and implement CO2 reduction potentials. The remaining emissions are offset through CO2 certificates from recognized, high-quality, ”Gold Standard” climate protection projects.

In doing so, DEISS is tangibly supporting Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) 5,7,8, and 13. This approach conforms to the UN Agenda 2030, which means that it avoids CO2 emissions and utilizes offsets, while also providing practical and tangible development assistance.

The Gold Standard

Climate protection projects are labelled with “The Gold Standard” certificate if they demonstrably contribute to a reduction in greenhouse gases. Furthermore, the local impact of the projects with regard to sustainability is also taken into consideration. Study confirms that DEISS PREMIUM PLUS products are undisputed climate heroes

A study published in December 2019 by the renowned Institute for Energy and Environmental Research (ifeu) attested that the DEISS climate heroes produce 30% fewer emissions in comparison with traditional Garbage bags. The DEISS films even prove to be more environmentally-friendly when compared with bio plastics and paper bags, as the high-performance polymers they use enable a savings in material of up to one-third.

An important conclusion from the study is that weight is the key factor for a positive ecological balance. The physical merits of the climate heroes are proof that so much is possible right now in the field of PE films made from recycled material.
