Through the use of thickness-reduced, high-quality recyclate-derived foil, the DEISS PREMIUM PLUS range of garbage bags achieve an optimum ecobalance – although requiring fewer raw materials, they nevertheless provide greater tear resistance and durability than comparable products.

The high-performance polymers selected are the essential prerequisite for thickness-reduced garbage bags providing unchanged performance. Climate neutralization through carbon-offsetting schemes

Mission: Climate protection – with the right partner

Climate Extender has specialised in assisting companies and organisations on their quest to become completely climate-neutralised. Residual CO2 emissions caused by the DEISS Climateheroes are offset with the aid of Climate Extender, thus ensuring that the ecological footprint is kept to a minimum.

As a result of this cooperation, the garbage bags of the PREMIUM PLUS brand are now 100 per cent climate-neutralised. Despite the reduced use of material and energy with a subsequently lower transport volume, the innovative high-performance foils nevertheless ensure unchanged performance levels. This approach is consistently being enhanced. The CO2 balance attained during the entire life cycle of these new products is kept under observation and any potential reduction of CO2 implemented. Residual emissions are offset with CO2 certificates acquired on the basis of acknowledged high-quality Gold Standard climate-protection projects.

In this way DEISS actively supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 5, 7, 8 and 13. Such activities are in conformity with the UN 2030 Agenda, namely to avoid and offset CO2 emissions and simultaneously provide practical, concrete development aid.

Climate-protection projects are awarded the “Gold Standard" certificate if they verifiably contribute to a reduction in greenhouse gases. In addition, the local impact of such projects in terms of sustainability is taken into account. ifeu study confirms the eco-balance

A study confirms: DEISS PREMIUM PLUS products are undisputed climate heroes

A study published in December 2019 by the reknowned ifeu Institute for Energy and Environmental Research confirms that CO2 emissions generated by the DEISS Climateheroes are 30% lower than those from similar commercially available garbage bags. In comparison, too, with bioplastics and paper bags, the foils selected by DEISS achieve more environment-friendly results as the high-performance polymers used in their production enable material savings of up to a third.

An important conclusion drawn in the study reveals that weight is the decisive lever in achieving a positive ecobalance. The fact that numerous opportunities particularly exist in the field of PE foils made from recycyclate is confirmed by the outstanding technical properties of the Climateheroes.
